  1. It was interesting to learn and know how this integrated learning is helping us to have a better teaching not only english classes, of course any subject that are taught by a second or third language, which must be analyzed in a dual focus : so that means content and language in a simultaneous learning.

Because, you have to know how to teach them how to get solving problems and of course how to do it, this is motivating students to go beyond the learning teaching development.

We have to present options to better the key competences, taking into account the reality of working life. This site makes it real for the present and it does not forget that there is the future to think about and plan for it.

CLIL started in Europe 15 years ago, and about 9 years ago it spreads to Asia, Africa and South America, we can see the importance of it right there. This site talks a lot about solutions, which shows me that even though it can be challenging, it can be done. We need to look for models to fit the needs and implement when and where is needed. There is hope. A lot of clips, books, journals, and other materials are offered in this site, not able to see it all.

This site is my favorite one on CLIL, so far, a lot of material and very practical. What stuck with me the most, was that "we need to plan and we need to be flexible"; I believe that is pretty much life, so if we teach with that same attitude, it will be great.

  4. About the CLIL website. It was interesting I have been using it at my master degree. I have never used this methodology since we need to have special gadgets and devices. Nevertheless I would like to put it in practice in UVM teaching.

  5. About the CLIL Consortium website.

It was interesting, but it has less information regarding the use of CLIL and more about the Consortium as an enterprise.

CLIL comments from the three websites

    www.clil-axis.net

I learnt that the three sites are based in the information provided by David Marsh in 1994 about his definition of CLIL: CLIL refers to situations where subjects, or parts of subjects are taught through a foreign language with dual -focussed aims, namely the learning of content, and the simultaneous learning of a foreign language.

From the second site I learnt that CLIL is about using languages to learn in order to use languages, so in a way it is more about language learning, not language teaching. It is about installing a "hunger to learn" in the student. What it brought my attention was about the teacher competencies: some of the most suitable CLIL teachers are those who speak the majority language as their first language and the CLIL language as a second language. I liked what they stated, How good you have to be in the target language to be able to teach through it? The answer was "good enough". That was a relief!!

I found the third site very user friendly and the message was very clear: use the language to learn and communicate. The subject of study is what determines the kind of language they need to learn. Fluency is more important that the accuracy on the use of the language.

  8. CLIL are the elements to create an educational cultural and to do stronger the teaching and learning process, specially about motivation.
The teacher needs to be a leader in the education process, so the best tool is CLIL.
Also CLIL help to create the culture to construct the elements that support the teaching and the learning too. CLIL can be the best aspect to establish an effective communication.
CLIL can identify the cognitive level of the students and the idiosyncrasy of the group, and then the teacher can generate the success strategies to do a blended learning.

  9. It`s most important to teachers learn about new methodology, in CLIL discover a interesting site and help a better performance.
The CLIL presents all the ingredients to the process at the new way teaching-learning, for a global education.
Blended learning, technology, foreign language is a perfect mixed in CLIL for a UVM practice.

CLIL: Content and Language Integrated Learning
'CLIL refers to situations where subjects, or parts of subjects, are taught through a foreign language with dual-focussed aims, namely the learning of content, and the simultaneous learning of a foreign language'. (Marsh, 1994 from www.isabelperez.com/)

The CLIL educational approach involves the use of methodologies which help build dual-focussed educational programmes that support both the learning of language and content

Here, I learned that exist a mega project named CLIL AXIS that presents options for adapting methods, models and practices to enhance the development of key competences for the new reality of working life. This proyect is on several European Cities, like Spain, Ingland, Suomi, etc.

    www.clilconsortium.jyu.fi

The CLIL Consortium is a network of experts who work individually, and jointly, on specific problem-solving and development tasks which concern ‘medium of instruction’. The Consortium experts have differing types of experience from across the World. This consortium has a several experts:
    Do Coyle
    Maria José Frigols
    David Marsh
    Peeter Mehsto
    Dieter Wolff
