i dont have fears about this, but i dont like it when the computer doesnt work in a correctly way, thats a big problem when you work with IT´s !!

ReplyDelete•How much technology do you use in class now ?I use educational technology, mainly on classes exposition as teaching strategies, and learning strategies. The use of platform Digitalia, also lowdown videos from Youtube, I also support the class on movies, documentals, audio cd's, the Laureate webibliography, etc.
• Where can you identify new ways of incorporating these modern technologies into your teaching ? In the teaching strategies and in the homeworks that students present. We need to improve an interactive activities to generate de significative learning.
• How much can you rely on your Ss to cooperate with you when you use computer-based activities and the internet with them in class ? Using de platform Digitalia and doing research, for example, looking for some information on Inegi link.
• How much do you think you need to learn in order to incorporate these methods into your teaching ? I think I need to learn much more about the construction of a platform. I´ve taken an introductory teaching on line courses, but I think I need more practice.
• Who can you rely on for I.T support ? I always use tha IT, because a realize research for the doctorade that, also is useful for Campus Monterrey
• What are your main fears about using IT as a learning/teaching tool and how can you overcome them ? In my classes is not allowe de "copy/paced", I try to teach to the students how to research based on APA style. It's a requirement to consider at least 5 bibliographycal references in each reasearch, and at least one in any homework, but I don´t accept references from wikipedia, rincón del vago, etc.

ReplyDeleteWell in my class I use a lot of technology because I teach information of Technology and then I use the computer, internet, programs and another class is computer tools this is virtual and I use the email by homework, exams or questions.

I identify through the other colleagues, internet (email), news in the newspaper or magazine

A lot of that they like new type of activities

Myself or with other friends as last resource the system department of the campus.

ReplyDeleteHow much technology do you use in class now ?
Not too much, actually just videos, films, photos from last experiences, lost of visits to different restaurants, hotels, vineyards, food factories.
• Where can you identify new ways of incorporating these modern technologies into your teaching ?
During class, we have too see how students react to new methods, hows there improvement between different stragedys of teaching and stargedys if making homeworks, and researching activities.
• How much can you rely on your Ss to cooperate with you when you use computer-based activities and the internet with them in class ?
All the time, they have to be part of the class and part of the technology based on our class.
• How much do you think you need to learn in order to incorporate these methods into your teaching ?
Everyday, I think technology changes everyday, and we have to be focus on whats new. Also I think there are plenty different ways to apply this kind of technology sistems, and we need to be prepared for them.
• Who can you rely on for I.T support ? an specialist, or a friend, my husband...
• What are your main fears about using IT as a learning/teaching tool and how can you overcome them ?
It is not really a fear, the main thing for teaching with I.T is to be trainee, to be able to use correctly and easy this method, and to have the correct tools. We need to be prepared!!!

ReplyDelete1. In UVM and UR, I am using website for watching some video of MIT teachers that explain specific points within the specific topic to be taught daily. I am also using some videos from the youtube website to explain some simple topics about chemistry. When I teach I use some website as a game. Additionally, I use some web site as exercises/problems for the students to perform graphics as classwork. Some homeworks and classworks must be sent to my e-mail or else posted in the website in Virtual U in the UR. Also I use power point presentations and laboratory practices for educational purposes. Commonly, I am asking questions about a topic, an specific definition or an open question debate in order to have enough participation from the class. Also, I solve some problems and exercises on the board.
2. I am using the VLE in the UR, but not in the UVM, since I haven’t asked if they have an adequate VLE tool. Even though, some teachers are using DIGITALIA only for specific courses.
3. In UVM, they do cooperate, but some of them are not confident using the internet utilization, therefore they cooperate in their own level. I think they can become better students if they are trained by the UVM or by myself, but first I need to read completely the UVM policy before I break a UVM’s policy.
4. Very little, since I have used many of them.
5. Yes I always rely on technology, even though it fails sometimes.
6. Regarding technology, I am fearless, but first many students must be trained before teachers start using the technology as a common teaching tool.
I think that just looking around us we will find new ideas to incorporate in our classes. Personally, I feel like I'm just touching the surface on how to have a blended classroom experience, I am talking about the technology.
ReplyDeleteEven we do use some, we need to learn more each day. If we make the class interesting enough, the students will cooperate without hesitation. If we have any fears, we shoould use it to motivate us to learn more. I am thankful that I do have "experts" around me that help me when I get stuck.
